Rihanna's New Gig Is "A Seminal Moment For The Sock Category"

It’s indisputable that Rihanna is a bonafide icon (she’s even got the pretty paperweight to prove it). And, in the big, badgalriri world of fashion, there’s no item too big or small to warrant Rihanna’s attention. Like, socks for instance. "This is a seminal moment for the sock category," says Candy Harris of the socks brand Stance. “[Rihanna] is a fashion pioneer and we are excited that she has made Stance her next canvas … Together, Rihanna and Stance have the ability to take an accessory you’ve never thought about and transform it into one you can’t live without.”

Perhaps even more random than the fact that Rihanna is now the creative director at a socks label is the design itself. The “Murder Rih Wrote” print uses a Galliano-inspired newsprint paired with a Barbara Kruger-inspired red-box typography, with a name that’s a rough play on words of the 1994 Chaka Demus & Pliers reggae hit, "Murder She Wrote," — and probably not the 1984 TV series starring Angela Lansbury, "Murder, She Wrote" (we're guessing this theme song doesn't necessarily inspire bangers). The socks come in both an over-the-knee style and a crew-style for both men and women.
