According to sources, music mogul Simon Cowell has been having top secret chinwags with Rits, hoping to pull her in as a replacement for last year's X Factor judge, Mel B.
Insiders reckon that the singer is tempted to jump ship because she is good pals with Radio 1 Nick Grimshaw, who is a firm favourite to have landed Louis Walsh's empty seat on the judging panel.
The source told The Sun newspaper: "Re-signing Cheryl and getting Grimmy changed everything.
