Lol Mexican politician vows to fight crime by campaigning in a classic 1960s BATMOBILE

A Mexican politician pledging to fight crime in one of the country's roughest neighborhoods has rolled out a vintage Batmobile in a bid to win votes.

Valentin Gonzalez is currently running for mayor of the Nezahualcoyotl municipality on the eastern outskirts of Mexico City.

In a bid to attract the attention of young voters, the politician has been turning up to campaign events with a classic Batmobile.

Gonzalez says the vehicle, a replica of the one used in the classic 1960s series, comes complete with a flame thrower and parachutes. The vehicle is a replica of the one used by the superhero in the original 1960s series starring Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin.

The area, known as 'Ciudad Neza' is named after an ancient Aztec emperor and has a history of mafia crime and corruption among officials, according to Fusion.net.

Fushion.net says the replica was built by Mexican artist Tomas Ibarra. According to La Prensa, the vehicle is carried around on a flat bed.
