Fifa Sponsors threaten to withdraw as corruption scandal deepens

Sponsors have expressed alarm at the developments of Fifa corruption scandal , with Visa threatening to break off its contract.

Fifa is facing a battle to keep lucrative World Cup sponsorship deals after several senior officials were arrested on suspicion of corruption.

US investigators yesterday said corruption inside Fifa was "rampant, systemic, and deep-rooted'' as it accused officials and marketing executives of taking bribes and kickbacks worth $150 million (£98 million) over a 24-year period.
