Empire was great, hated all the adverts though': E4 series comes under fire from viewers

Mirror.co.uk reports Hit US series Empire has come under fire from UK viewers unhappy at the number of advertising breaks.

The series, which debuted on Fox in January 2015 before finding a home on E4, was a record-breaking smash in America.

The popular programme of a family dynasty set in the hip-hop industry follows Lucious Lyon and his musical empire.

Played by Oscar-nominee Terrence Howard, Lucious must pick one of his three sons as his successor after he is diagnosed with motor neurone disease and given three years to live.

He must also battle with the return of his ex-wife Cookie played by the brilliant Taraji P. Hensom, who is getting out of prison after 17 years and wants half the company.
