Empire has come under fire from UK viewers unhappy at the number of
advertising breaks.
The series, which debuted on Fox
in January 2015 before finding a home on E4, was a record-breaking
smash in America.
The popular programme of
a family dynasty set in the hip-hop industry follows Lucious Lyon and his
musical empire.
Played by Oscar-nominee Terrence Howard, Lucious must pick one of his three sons as his successor after he is diagnosed with motor neurone disease and given three years to live.
He must also battle with the return of his ex-wife Cookie played by the brilliant Taraji P. Hensom, who is getting out of prison after 17 years and wants half the company.
